Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship gambling den, contains 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel compound that features a number of conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 table games.
