Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino betting is against the law. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that contains many conveniences aside from the casino, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 tables.
